Celebrating my 51st Birthday...

Trying to adjust to being at home. Joe's 51st Birthday was back in November. Yesterday we finally got to celebrate Joe turning 51. Rebecca Lynne baked him a cake. I made him a big pot of Chicken and Dumplings.
Next Sunday we will be celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas. No matter what day it is we can always be thankful and celebrate our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Thank you Jesus for day 106. Joe was in the hospital for 106 days. Joe is officially discharged from the hospital. We are staying tonight then heading back home tomorrow morning.

We are in Code Yellow.. I can Have Visitors!!!

Thank you Jesus for a great day. Joe called to tell me that Kennestone Hospital is now in "Code Yellow", which means I get to see Joe from 4pm-8pm tomorrow. Woohoo!!!!
I spoke with his Care Giver earlier. Everything is coming into place to bring Joe home. Joe will be coming home after 3 months and 1 week in the hospital; blessed beyond measure.
One more day closer to Joe coming home. Tomorrow we will be leaving for Mareitta, Georgia. Thank you for your prayers and continued prayers.

Field Trip Today!!

Thank you Jesus for a great day. Joe took a field trip. His therapist took him on a shopping spree for snack food in the gift shop. Then she took him outside for the first time since October 21, 2021. Joe was able to enjoy 60 degree weather sitting on a bench; blessed beyond measure.

Joe told me that his nurse's relative went through the same ordeal as him. Her relative was discharged yesterday, thank you Jesus.

Laundry is Done

Thank you Jesus for another day. Joe washed his clothes during his occupational training. When I talked to him he was able to talk without coughing a lot. I cannot wait to go pick him up from the hospital. I am a little impatient and I have to remember that patience is a virtue.

Mama I'm Coming Home!!!! Jan 28th

Thank you Jesus for January 28th. Joe will be discharged to come home on January 28th. I was the one who got to tell Joe. The smile on his face brought me Joy; blessed.
Joe is having issues with endurance and walking; both will come in time. God is an amazing God. For a Christian it is a win/win situation. To be healed on Earth or in Heaven, for a Christian it is a win/win. God has performed a miracle with Joe. I'm excited to see where God takes us.

Therapy Wears me out

Thank you Jesus for another day. Joe's oxygen dropped too low during physical therapy so they had to order a CT. The CT returned with a good result. His cough seems to be an issue. They are trying to find a nedicine that will cooperate with him. I spoke with his Nurse Practitioner; Joe will be reassessed tomorrow. Hopefully I will get a date that Joe will be discharged; blessed.
From Joe: Therapy is most of the day. Occupational, Physical, Speech and Respiratory.

Gallbladde Drain Removed.. I had a Visitor.. One of my Adopted Daughters!!!

Thank you Jesus for a good day. Joe's gallbladder drain was removed. He was able to do all therapies out of the bed today. I spoke with his case worker earlier. If he keeps going strong we may get to bring Joe home in 10-13 days; we are very grateful.
Today Joe had a special visitor. Nurse Ashley came by to visit her adopted daddy. She along with many others will live in our hearts and we will be forever grateful. Joe is allowing me to share some of his photos. God is an AMAZING God.
Thank you for your prayers and continued prayers. It is amazing to watch prayers being answered before our eyes.

First time in my life my blood pressure is too LOW!!!

Thank you Jesus for another day. Joe spent the day in bed due to his blood pressure dropping too low. Physical therapy was done in bed. Joe is still experiencing pain with his gall bladder. Tomorrow morning he will have a CT scan. Thank you for your prayers and continued prayers.

Thank you Jesus for another tiring day. Joe worked with the walker and parallel bars. His coughing seems to be an issue. Also, he is experiencing a lot of pain with his gall bladder drain. Hopefully we will know more tomorrow. We greatly appreciate your prayers and continued prayers.

Never take for granted the little things in life!!!
January 10, 2022
Thank you Jesus for a tiring day. Joe walked 30 steps using the parallel bars. He had eating therapy with the speech therapist. He now can eat normally. Saturday, Joe learned to use a wheelchair. He also learned to get in a car. The things we take for granted, Joe has to learn all over again; blessed beyond measure.
I spoke with Joe's case worker today. His medical team should know by the end of this week or the beginning of next week as to when Joe will be coming home. Thank for your prayers and continued prayers.

Transferred to Kennestone Rehab...

Thank you Jesus for a beautiful day. Joe was taken to Kennestone around 11:30. Nancy and I went to Walmart and bought them out of XL sweatpants. Joe told everyone today in ear shot that he will be home in 2 weeks. Looking forward to bringing Joe home. Thank you for your prayers and continued prayers.
I cannot be with Joe until the day he is discharged so Joe told me to go home. Tomorrow will be 80 days that I have been in Marietta, GA with Joe. Tomorrow morning Nancy and I will be heading home to Almost Heaven West Virginia. Time to cue "Country Roads".

Plans for Kennestone Rehab are Made!!!

Thank you Jesus!!!! We got the call from Kennestone. Joe will be transfered as early as tomorrow. Giving God all the glory, honor, and praise. Joe is informing everyone that steps into his room that he is leaving
Let me tell you how AMAZING our God is. I spoke with Tracy, from Kennestone, this morning about Joe's transfer. She would have to contact the insurance company and wait for approval. The approval probably would not come till tomorrow but she was hoping for this evening. Tracy called me to tell me that the insurance approval came shortly after she sent the request. She kept saying she has never seen an approval come that fast. Kennestone has one bed available, and its for Joe. Thank you Jesus!!!!
I cannot say it enough, thank you for your prayers and continued prayers. We are giving God all the glory, honor, and praise.

More Walking with a walker and Planning for More Rehab

Thank you Jesus, Joe was able to walk with the help of a walker. He called his mom, Nancy was so happy to hear his voice. The employee taking care of his transfer contacted me. She asked me for my first choice, I said home. Outpatient services is not an option. Our first choice is Kennestone and our second choice is Cobb Hospital.

Walking with a walker..

Thanking Jesus for a great day. Joe had a productive physical therapy session. He stood up several times. Using a walker he was able to go from the bed to the chair a couple of times. He is still not able to walk or feed himself, but this will come sooner than later.
Tomorrow morning Joe's feeding tube will be removed.. The light can be seen at the end of the tunnel. Thank you for your prayers and continued prayers.

I GOT TO EAT!!! First time since October..

Guess who gets to eat a banana split. DQ here I come.
Thank you Jesus!!!! The trach is gone!!!!
I cannot thank our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ enough. Today was a great day for Joe. He was able to eat lunch, dinner, and a little bit of a banana split. Every time someone walked in the room Joe informed them that he was getting to eat today. The trach was removed and the hole will close in a couple of days. To top this day off, the doctor is putting him in the transfer portal first thing tomorrow morning. I have requested for Joe to return to Kennestone for his occupational therapy. Joe still cannot walk. Also,, he needs to strengthen his arms and hands.

I saw Joe's post and got all excited. He looked over at me like I was weird. I get excited over the little things, so do the nurses.

11 weeks in the the hospital from covid.
Tomorrow trach removal, swallow test and real food for the first time since October. Physical therapy
Thank you Jesus!!! Today was a restful day for Joe. Every day he does a little bit more. Today he used his phone, brushed his own teeth, fed himself ice chips, and used his arm strength to re-adjust himself. Tomorrow his trach will be removed and hopefully he will get to eat.
Joe is a miracle and we are giving God all of the glory, honor, and praise. We thank you all for your prayers and continued prayers. Looking forward to cueing "Country Roads".

Thank you Jesus for a good day. Today was a quiet day of rest. Joe watched TV some and slept some. Dr Gilbert said that Joe's trach will be removed on Monday and he will get to eat. He is looking forward to Monday.
