The East River Amateur Radio Club, Inc., is located in Bluefield, West Virginia. The club's call sign is W8MOP. The ERARC was incorporated in 1960 and has an active membership of more than 100.
We are a group of amateur radio operators in Southern West Virginia and Southwestern Virginia who are dedicated to the enjoyment and enhancement of amateur radio.
The ARA's mission is to provide local amateur radio operators with reliable repeater coverage. In doing so, we support and maintain many amateur radio repeaters in West Virginia, and Virginia.

The Giles Amateur Radio Association, Inc., located in Giles County Virginia was founded on May 10th 1992, an outgrowth of the Dismal Peak Repeater Society, Inc., which was incorporated on February 9th 1988. All hams are always welcome to visit this WebSite to find out more about amateur radio in our area. The Friendship Traffic and Information Net meets every night at 8:30 on the 147.135 (PL 100.0) repeater. Everyone is welcome to tune in to listen!
The National Weather Service (NWS), in cooperation with other organizations, has established the SKYWARN local severe weather spotting network. Founded in the early 1970's, SKYWARN is made up of a group of trained, dedicated amateur weather enthusiasts who work in conjunction with the National Weather Service by observing and reporting adverse weather conditions to promote public safety and minimize property damage. Anyone over the age of 16 with an interest in weather and public service qualifies for SKYWARN spotter training. Once trained, you are a qualified SKYWARN spotter. Currently, the National Weather Service has approximately 1100 spotters of all ages and walks of life.
